Yes, for almost everything a business signs: employment contracts, NDAs, quotes, service agreements and HR forms. In South Africa, the ECT Act recognises them but excludes agreements to sell land, leases of land over 20 years, wills and bills of exchange. In the US, the ESIGN Act gives them the same force as ink, apart from wills and trusts, family matters like divorce and adoption, court documents and notices such as evictions or utility cut-offs. In the EU, eIDAS says a signature can't be refused just because it's electronic, and a qualified electronic signature counts as handwritten. Individual countries can still require ink or a notary for some documents.

It does when the signer has a certificate for it. An approved provider issues that certificate to the person after checking their identity, and the certificate sets the level. You only need one where a law itself requires a signature. NomaSign signs with certificates from commercial and government certificate authorities. For contracts, quotes and HR forms, the standard NomaSign signature is already digital and sealed, with an audit trail.

No. Approved certificate providers issue them, and which ones you can use depends on the country. In South Africa, that's a provider accredited under the ECT Act. Tell us where your signers are and we'll point you to a provider that fits, then set NomaSign up to sign with their certificates.

Yes, as a paid add-on. If your company's or signers' certificates have to sit on secure hardware, we keep them in a hardware security module (HSM) for a small additional fee. The certificate itself and the provider's identity checks are billed separately by that provider. Contact us and we'll set it up.
